GROUP PILATES

GROUP PILATES

There are a few options for Group Pilates classes.
PILATES MAT- If Pilates was Dance, Pilates Mat would be Ballet. If Pilates was a building, Pilates Mat would be the foundation. A Pilates student absolutely needs to feel comfortable on the Mat, and know how to properly engage their core on the mat, before moving elsewhere. In a Mat class you properly learn to train the abdomen, lower back, hips, and buttocks, the body’s “Powerhouse”. In a Mat class your own body creates resistance in the workout. Stacked Pilates & Dance is proud to offer a few different options for Mat classes. You will notice improved strength, flexibility, agility and posture from your mat class.
All Mat classes will involve small equipment; weighted balls, foam rollers, fitness circles, etc.

GROUP REFORMER- When working on a Reformer, pulleys and springs create resistance for the body. You will again be challenged to engage your Powerhouse, and a strong foundation of a proper mat class will help you achieve the most from your Reformer class. You will notice your arms/legs developing tone within a few sessions.A Reformer works muscles’ concentrically and eccentrically; so you achieve a long lean dancer’s look (no bulk!) Stacked Pilates & Dance has 4 Reformers with Towers attached. We will do our best to find the appropriate level class for each student.
