Michelle began dancing at the age of 3 and was involved in numerous forms of dance until University. At the age of 14, she also began teaching children tap and jazz. Although Michelle stopped formally dancing during University, she began taking part in exercise classes to compensate for the lack of activity. She soon became certified as a Can-Fit-Pro Fitness Instructor and began teaching fitness classes at a local gym. During this time, she was also completing a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy and learning more about body mechanics and what the body needs to complete functional tasks for everyday living. To continue to satisfy Michelle’s need to learn more about fitness, she began taking Pilates and learning how it worked her body differently from other forms of exercise. With a new found appreciation for Pilates and a continued love for dance and fitness, Michelle became a certified BarreConcept instructor, a fusion class of all these areas of movement. With an ever growing passion for teaching and exercise, Michelle has also become certified as a DaVinci Body Board instructor, one of the first in Canada and a STOTT Pilates Certified instructor in Mat and Reformer. She is happy to bring her passion for health and wellness to Stacked Pilates and Dance!
